“Only A Northern Song” (Beatles Week 2012 Day 5)

Tell Me Why offers up that if Ringo had sung “Only A Northern Song” it might be more believable and that it “confirms all suspicions about the psychedelic hubris of 1967.” BeatleSongs considers it “one of the worst songs Harrison ever wtrote.” It was initially written and partially recorded for the Sgt. Pepper’s album, but left off of it and would show up in Yellow Submarine.

Last week I posted about actor Christopher Lee and discovering his foray into heavy metal music. I purchased his “Christmas album” (really, just a single with two songs) and how much I really liked it. I liked it enough to stream it to hopefully entice people to head over and make a purchase.

A few days ago I got an email that I was in violation of certain agreements and the song would have to come down. After a couple of back and forth emails, I deleted the MP3 from my servers. I feel really bad about it because I know of another blog with a much larger audience than me (Sarah And The Goon Squad) that used my MP3 as well to entice others to make a purchase. Now she is also going to have to go back and edit her own post, one which she so nicely posted a link to my blog.

Such is life.
