June’s Geek Fuel Box

June’s Geek Fuel Box

After last month’s box, August’s first, had been such a success, I knew the next one wouldn’t be as much of a hit, though he would certainly enjoy it. The question was this month, to what degree would he like the stuff included.

This month’s theme seemed to be 90s, starting with the t-shirt. Apparently it is meant to be reminiscent of “The X-Files” what with the Leonardo DaVinci inspired alien depiction. While the meaning or significance of the shirt is lost on August, he does like the shirt and thinks it is pretty cool.

Next, and perhaps his favorite item in the box. The general rule in the house is “If you are old enough to read the book you are old enough to watch the movie.”

He is currently reading through the first book and making serious progress. He might get to watch the movie this weekend. Helping to keep his place in the book is a Mortal Kombat themed bookmark.

How many other mutant heroes have some sort of green ooze at the core of their mythology? Even if Geek Fuel were able to afford the license for an official TMNT product this would be one of the lesser items in the box.

Attach it to your key ring and when you need to find them, well, August is going to attach it to his school backpack. August likes Space Invaders, but Dela really likes that game. There is a game for the 3DS she played a lot and I think she liked this item a lot more than August. I wouldn’t be surprised if he winds up giving it to her in a few months.

Finally, another of the items that August really liked. The video game code this month is for Super Win The Game. He played this game quite a bit already and this is right up his alley. Add to that he has heard of the game. It is a sequel to 2012’s You Have To Win The Game, a platformer, and very much in the “retro” style. It also came with a keychain.

Finally here is the video of the unboxing August did after we got home from vacation to find the box waiting for him.
